Depending upon the type of treatment, if spider or a spray treatment, although we apply products that are designed for this purpose and are completely safe for use by professional pest operators, in case of sensitivity it is prudent to stay away from treated areas until spray is dry, which takes around (3) x hours. This advice would be the same for pets, which can be contained in an internal room.
We generally recommend that pest treatment involving a spray are best applied on a dry, non-windy day.
In general terms following service there will typically be a treatment cycle where the application flush out pest populations. In this context it is normal to see a temporary increase of pest activity during this time, but do not worry this will subside within a few weeks. A temporary increase of activity following treatment is entirely normal and indicates the treatment is having the desired effect.
When you have schedule a specialist service such as termite, Bird or possum you will receive specific advice on what to expect following our visit.
Once you schedule your service our team will provide you with some specific information on preparation to ensure you get the most out of your treatment. However, some general recommendations are; please provide safe, access to harbourage areas eg. If rodents are being treated safe access to roof and/or sub floor is desirable. Safe access means no obstacles and an entry point of at least 500mm2 or more. Any access points into these areas should be clear, reachable by ladder and allow for safe access by our technicians. If you are having an internal spider/cockroach treatment, our team will confirm the details upon arrival, however, it is sensible to cover food items, stow utensils, cutlery, condiments and remove pet bowls for the duration of the treatment. It will also help our team to apply treatment effectively if stored items are moved away from external perimeter to allow for access.
It is desirable to mop and vacuum before our teams’ arrival, if you are preparing for a flea treatment.
In the case of a spider treatments please Do Not clean away spider webs, this will aid our team in identifying key harbourage areas.
In the case of spider or general spray style treatments, our team will not apply product to fruit trees, veggie gardens or herb plants, however it is prudent in preparation for your treatment to shut windows, remove washing, remove pet bowls, pet bedding and if you have fishponds or keep birds be sure to advise our team.
As a small favour we would request any pet waste is removed prior to our team’s arrival, this will minimise the risk of inadvertently walking it into the house.

Following treatment, you will see an increase in pest activity this is a normal part of the treatment cycle. Generally, for spiders the treatment cycle can take up to (6) x weeks, with rodents typically up to (4) x weeks.
During the treatment cycle for spiders we recommend not washing around windows and doors, otherwise you will clean off the protective chemical layer.

In most cases maintenance visits will be required for best results. In the case of rodents, depending upon location, inner city or regional, maintenance treatments may be annually or longer depending upon risk factors. With regards to spider and more general treatments, we typically recommend treating in early Spring/Summer annually.
